There are a growing number of sustainability initiatives that brands have cultivated and we can support through our purchases. One of these brands is H&M. The H&M group’s sustainable efforts go way back into the 90’s according to an interview published by Forbes and the Conscious Exclusive Collection is its forefront. For this year’s collection, H&M has developed 3 new sustainable textiles: Orange Fiber®, Piñatex®, and BLOOM™ Foam. Orange Fiber is a silk-like fabric made out of citrus peel, while Piñatex® is a leather alternative created from cellulose fibers extracted from pineapple leaves, and BLOOM™ Foam is a plant-based foam made out of algae biomass. Other sustainable sources included are  “recycled polyester, organic cotton, organic linen, organic silk, TENCEL™ lyocell, recycled plastic, recycled glass and recycled silver”.

Curious to find out what they’ve designed them into? Check out their conscious creations this season below.

**The H&M’s Conscious Exclusive Collection will be available in selected Hong Kong stores starting on April 11, 2019, and for people in Macao, you can purchase them online. **
