After typhoon Hato, I’ve been trying to reduce my impact on our deteriorating environment by being cautious about my day-to-day activities.  To my surprise, it can be effortless if you turn it into a habit. Here are things you can implement easily:

Reuse:

  • Paper bags as Gift bags
  • Plastic bags for Trash Bins
  • Boxes or Containers for various storage purposes such as Stationary and Clutter

Recycle:

  • Papers by throwing them in designated recycling bins
  • Double sided papers, they are back-to-back so you don’t need to waste your resource
  • Old Notebooks, strip off old material that is no longer relevant, keep it for another use in the semester or personal lists
  • Clothes by donating them in designated spots
  • Old Clothing can also be turned into cleaning material for household uses

Reduce:

  • Opt-in for paperless bills, notes, and receipts
  • Bring your own bag when you go to the grocery /shopping in general
  • Walk to places when you can
